Greetings to the Servants of Jesus Christ

Brother and Sister Officers: It is indeed a pleasure to greet you for the 2020 year. We continue to operate the various programs and activities despite the need to virtually conduct these activities, given the outbreak of the COVID19 virus. We trust and hope you are all following the medical professionals' advice and are social distancing, wearing protective equipment to include the face masks and limiting your outside exposure where possible. We pray that a vaccine will emerge soon that will restrict and eliminate the effects of this tragic illness, and know that you like I, long to once again have engagements with our Brothers and Sisters in Christ.

The National Baptist Deacons Convention was a great success, and we are already looking forward to 2021 in South Carolina. We have to be creative in this new reality with different approaches to conducting training classes, conventions, and community functions to serve and to enhance the fellowship of our sister churches. As President of the General Baptist Deacons Association, I want to encourage all Deacons, Deaconess, Youth, and Young Adults to continue to do your very best in 2020, which is the 101st year for the association. As you strive to fulfill your busy daily schedules, ensure you make time for devotion (scripture reading and prayer) and devote a portion of your time to community service and your local fellowships. A sound plan will help your spiritual growth, outreach activities, leadership development, and spiritual enrichment for yourself and the church. As officers, we are in a unique position to address our respective congregations' spiritual needs, to assist our Pastors, and to spread the Gospel into the community. If the spirit leads you to participate in the GBDA, we welcome you. Your time, talent, and treasure are valuable on multiple scales, and we hope and pray that others will continue to see the work of the Master manifested in your life.

Please explore this website for areas that you may find useful, and we look forward to seeing you all at a time of your choosing this year. Also, follow us on Facebook (General Baptist Deacons Association) and our new Instagram feed.
